Induction hardened parts are a result of a process of induction hardening. This heat treatment process creates a hardened surface layer.Ferrous components are hardened to improve their mechanical properties, strength, fatigue resistance and wear resistance. The components that are induction hardened can be made from carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, ductile iron, etc. This heat treatment process heats the surface of the parts by the means of alternating magnetic field to a temperature above the transformation range.Induction hardened parts made from induction hardening prevents re-designing components.
